WE BOUGHT THIS MACHINE FROM A STUDIO THAT CLOSED ITS DOORS TWO YEARS AGO. IT WAS THE MACHINE THAT TRACKED PLATINUM ALBUMS FOR ARTISTS LIKE GROVER WASHINGTON JR., VANESSA WILLIAMS, GLADYS KNIGHT, AND MORE... HOPE I SPELLED ALL THAT RIGHT.
IT'S A 2" 24 TRACK, STUDER A80 MKIV WIDE BODY TAPE MACHINE. THERE'S ABOUT 9000 HOURS ON THE HEADS. THEY'VE NEVER BEEN RELAPPED, AND THERE IS ABOUT ANOTHER 9000 HOURS LEFT ON THEM BEFORE YOU'D NEED TO RELAPP/REPLACE.
WE HAD IT THOROUGLY OVERHAULED BY A LOCAL TECH WHO WAS A TOTAL MADMAN GENIUS. HE GOT THIS THING RUNNING SO WELL, WE COULDN'T BELIEVE IT.
THERE ARE ALSO 2 BAYS OF DOLBY NR WITH IT. IT'S TYPE A NOISE REDUCTION, AND ALL OF IT WORKS FINE. THE MACHINE RECORDS AND PLAYS BEAUTIFULLY. STUDER MADE MACHINES THAT LAST FOR DECADES, AND THIS MONSTER WILL SURELY PROVIDE ANY STUDIO WITH ANOTHER 9000 HOURS (AT LEAST) OF EXCELLENT TAPE SOUND.
AUTOLOCATOR/COMPUTER INCLUDED, AND SO IS THE REMOTE. IT'S ON WHEELS, AND IT WEIGHS A COUPLE/FEW HUNDRED POUNDS. I WOULD DELIVER WITHIN A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES FOR A PRICE, BUT RECOMMEND YOU PICK UP.
